Delhi Police rejects claims CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke was not informed of grandmother’s death

"Several social media handles are claiming that as Sh. Abhijeet Dipke is in detention, he has not been informed about the demise of his grandmother. In this regard, it is being clarified that the information regarding the demise of Abhijeet’s grandmother was promptly conveyed to him with due sensitivity," the official X handle of the department said in a post.
The Delhi Police also said that the CJP founder had been informed about the scheduled funeral time and offered all possible assistance on humanitarian grounds.

"He was also informed of the scheduled funeral time and offered all possible assistance to facilitate his travel to his hometown on humanitarian grounds," the post further read.
The clarification came after several social media accounts claimed that Dipke had not been informed about the death of his grandmother because he was in police custody during the CJP protests in the national capital.

Dipke's detention has drawn attention amid the wider controversy surrounding the CJP's planned protest in Delhi. The newly formed youth party had called for a demonstration demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over allegations of irregularities in electoral rolls.
Dipke and other CJP leaders, including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained at Delhi airport after arriving from Mumbai.
CJP protest breaks into scattered demonstrations across Delhi
The protest, which was supposed to start at 10:30 am, could not be organised at Jantar Mantar due to high security measures.Instead, protestors found themselves dispersed in various parts like Connaught Place, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Dilli Haat, Gole Market and INA Market, trying to gather and carry on with their protest.
It is reported that about 25,000 police and paramilitary forces were posted in the city, as per official figures, whereas entry and exit restrictions were placed at 45 metro stations.
According to the government, 7,000 protesters have been arrested so far in the capital.
After arresting the leaders of the CJP, Ajinkya Shinde, who was declared the party's national organisation in-charge, called upon protesters to keep on protesting irrespective of police restrictions.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation issued a fresh advisory on Saturday, announcing the extension of the closure of entry and exit gates at 45 metro stations by four hours till 10 pm amid security arrangements for the CJP protest in the national capital.
The stations, which were earlier scheduled to reopen at 6 pm, will continue to remain closed till 10 pm on October 10, the DMRC said in a revised service update. The Delhi Metro Authority will further study the security agencies' review' in and around the national capital and will share necessary updates accordingly.
