Nursery admissions enter next phase as applications close
With the application window closing on Saturday, the nursery admission process has now moved to the school-led stage. Schools will take over the next steps, including data uploads, evaluation through the point system, and the release of admission lists.

Nursery admission dates parents should know (Part 1)
January 9: Schools begin uploading details of registered children.
January 16: Schools upload marks based on the point system.
January 23: First list of selected children announced.
January 24 to February 3: Query window opens for first list.

February 9: Second admission list released.
February 10 to February 16: Query window for second list.
March 5: Subsequent list released if seats remain.
Age criteria for nursery, kg and class i explained
The revised age norms will apply from the academic session 2026–27.
Nursery: 3 plus years to under 4 years
KG: 4 plus years to under 5 years
Class I: 5 plus years to under 6 years

How the restructured foundational stage works
Nursery students move to Balvatika 2 in 2027–28
Nursery students of 2025–26 shift to KG in 2026–27
KG students of 2025–26 move to Class I in 2026–27
Class I students advance to Class II in 2026–27.
Regular students from recognised schools are exempt from age-appropriateness rules for admission to the next higher class, provided they submit a valid school leaving certificate and marksheet. (With TOI inputs)
