Strict action against unauthorised businesses
Kumar stressed the need to curb unauthorised businesses, saying they not only pose health and safety risks for residents but also result in financial losses for the corporation. He urged the public health department to come up with a concrete action plan to close down illegally operating establishments."The public health department must take strict action against illegal spa centres, unauthorised restaurants, and illegally-operating OYO hotels across the city," Kumar stated.
Focus on revenue and welfare initiatives
The mayor also highlighted the financial impact of unauthorised businesses, pointing out that many evade licensing fees and necessary approvals, affecting the MCD’s revenue."Our priority is to enhance revenue and ensure that there are no financial obstacles in delivering welfare initiatives for the residents of Delhi," he said.
