The man, identified as Yashveer Singh and a resident of the Mangal Bazar area, arrived at the Laxmi Nagar Police Station around 5 pm and informed officers that he had killed his mother, sister and younger brother, citing severe financial distress as the reason for his actions.
According to police, the victims were his mother Kavita, 46, his 24-year-old sister Meghana and his 14-year-old brother Mukul.
"On receiving the information, police teams immediately rushed to the address mentioned by the man. Upon verification, the bodies of the woman and her two children were found lying inside the house," an officer told the news agency.
Following the confession, police teams were immediately dispatched to the address provided by Singh. Upon entering the house, officers found the bodies of the three family members inside, confirming the information given at the police station.
A senior police official said the matter is being thoroughly investigated and further details will be established as the inquiry progresses.
