The incident occurred on Sunday evening in Jamia Nagar, southeast Delhi, resulting in injuries to a police inspector and a constable.
Officials reported that 24-year-old Asif was pulled over while riding his Royal Enfield Bullet due to excessive noise.
During the inspection, police discovered that the motorcycle's silencer had been "illegally" altered, violating the Motor Vehicles Act by producing noise levels beyond the legal limit.
Following the stop, Asif called his father, Riyazuddin, who allegedly attempted to take the motorcycle away forcibly. When the inspector tried to intervene, Riyazuddin allegedly grabbed him, while Asif punched the inspector near the eye. They also reportedly attacked other officers on the scene.
"We have registered a case against accused Asif and his father for obstructing a public servant from performing his duties and physically assaulting the SHO and other police officers on duty," an official commented.
The injured officers have been hospitalized and are currently reported to be in stable condition.
