The order said the allegations against them were "quite serious and relate to commission of an economic offence of money laundering".
A court here on Thursday rejected the bail plea of Aam Aadmi Party communication-in-charge Vijay Nair and four co-accused in a case over alleged irregularities in the Delhi government's now-scrapped liquor policy.

Nair and the four others - Abhishek Boinpally, Sameer Mahendru, Sarath Chandra Reddy and Benoy Babu - were arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering probe into the case.

Denying them bail, judge MK Nagpal said there was sufficient incriminating evidence to show the entire "modus operandi" adopted by the accused for commission of offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

The court held that it would not be possible to hold that the accused would make no attempt to tamper with evidence if released on bail. The ED has levied allegations against them of tampering with evidence by destroying or changing mobile phones various times, it said.

The order said the allegations against them were "quite serious and relate to commission of an economic offence of money laundering".
