The Delhi government will roll out a series of big-ticket projects worth more than Rs 3,000 crore on September 17, coinciding with PM Modi’s birthday and the start of Seva Pakhwada. The initiatives, spread across water, sewage, healthcare, roads and welfare, aim to give the capital a significant infrastructure push, reported TOI.

Among the highlights are a citywide drainage master plan, the long-awaited Nand Nagri flyover, new reservoirs, and upgrades to sewage treatment facilities. The Delhi Jal Board will lead a slate of projects to bolster water and sanitation, including expansion of plants at Okhla, Palla and Bijwasan, and a new sewer network in Sonia Vihar.

According to the report, in the healthcare sector, 38 MRI machines and 150 dialysis units will be commissioned at hospitals across the city. Facilities such as Acharya Shree Bhikshu Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital and Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital will see significant upgrades, alongside the launch of 101 Ayushman Arogya health centres.

Urban mobility is also in focus, with the Nand Nagri flyover expected to reduce congestion in the trans-Yamuna region. A foot overbridge near the Rajputana Rifles campus is planned to improve pedestrian safety.

Additionally, long-pending dues under the Ladli scheme—financial benefits provided to families of girl children at birth and key educational milestones—will finally be cleared, TOI further reported.

PWD Minister Parvesh Verma described the package as a “gift to the people of Delhi” and said it reflects the government’s commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier, and better-connected capital.
