Delhi LG Saxena seeks NIA probe against Kejriwal for receiving funding from Khalistani group ‘SFJ’
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena on Monday recommended NIA probe against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly receiving political funding from the banned terrorist organization “Sikhs for Justice”, in what may be mounting troubles for the AAP leader.

In a letter addressed to the Home Secretary, Saxena said that he received a complaint regarding Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP receiving huge funds – USD 16 million – from the extremist Khalistani groups for facilitating the release of Devendra Pal Bhullar and espousing the Pro-Khalistani sentiments during 2014 and 2022.

This comes a day ahead of the Supreme Court considering to grant Kejrwal interim bail in view of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Saxena also mentions that the complainant, Ashoo Mongia National General Secretary (World Hindu Federation India), has also stated that as per tweets on Platform 'X' by Dr. Munish Kumar Raizada, also confirmed the AAP supremo's 'closed door' meeting with Pro-Khalistani leaders at Richmond Hill Gurudwara, New York, in 2014.

"In his tweets he also confirmed that apart from attending public meetings, Sh. Kejriwal held a closed door meeting, at the Richmond Hills Gurudwara, with Pro-Khalistani Sikh Leaders. It has also been mentioned in the letter that Sh Kejriwal wrote to former President Sh Pranab Mukherjee seeking clemency for Bhullar. In this context a copy of a letter by Sh Arvind Kejriwal, addressed to one Sh. Iqbal Singh is enclosed," the letter further stated.

"The electronic evidences adduced by the complainant requires investigation including forensic examination," Saxena has said. The complaint is made against a chief minister and relates to political funding received from a banned terrorist organisation, the letter stated.

Reacting to the recommendation of the L-G, AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj accused Saxena of being an agent of BJP.

"This is another big conspiracy against CM Kejriwal by them at the behest of BJP. BJP is losing all the seven seats in Delhi and hence is upset. BJP had hatched this conspiracy even before the Punjab Assembly elections," the Delhi minister said.

The Delhi CM is presently held in Tihar Jail following his arrest on March 21 after the Delhi High Court denied Kejriwal's request for immunity from coercive action by the federal anti-money laundering agency.

On April 9, the High Court had upheld Kejriwal's arrest in the money-laundering case, ruling that there was no illegality involved and that the ED had "little option" after he ignored several summonses and declined to cooperate with the investigation.
