As reported by ET, some leading private hospitals in Delhi including Max and Fortis Escorts Heart Institute had suspended fresh admissions due to inadequate supplies of oxygen and an increasing number of Covid-19 patients. Max hospital officials said they have not changed their decision on admissions yet. “We don’t have beds and enough oxygen.
Till the supplies improve we will have to suspend or bring down admissions,” one of them said. Fortis said the oxygen supplies were better today in its chain of hospitals. However, it said the waiting list is getting longer. Meanwhile, as hospitals in Delhi run out of beds, people have started finding ways to get treatment for sick patients at home, buying oxygen concentrators and ICU setups for home.
