A man was killed after being struck by a car and dragged approximately 10 metres in Connaught Place, as per officials. The incident occurred on Wednesday, and the driver, Shivam Dubey, 28, was arrested the following day after fleeing the scene.

The victim, Lekhraj, 45, a homeless man, was hit by the vehicle while crossing the road near Barakhamba Radial Road at Connaught Place's outer circle. He became trapped under the car, and Dubey allegedly continued driving, dragging him for about 10 metres before fleeing.

Lekhraj was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Dubey, who is from Madhya Pradesh and had borrowed the car from a friend in south Delhi's Mahipalpur, returned the vehicle to its owner after the incident. Authorities used CCTV footage to track him down, leading to his arrest. He has been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), officials informed.

The car involved in the accident has been impounded, and the police are continuing their investigation into the case.
