Delhi HC issues notice to NIA on plea of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid seeking parole to attend Parliament sessions

Further, the high court also asked the investigation agency to file an affidavit if it objects to the plea.
Rashid's earlier plea for custodial parole was rejected by the special NIA Court. He moved the Delhi High Court against the trial court's order refusing custody parole to him.
Rashid is seeking interim bail or interim custody parole to attend the ongoing Parliament Session from March 10 to April 4, 2025.
He is accused and in judicial custody in a case filed by the NIA. His regular bail application is pending before the special NIA Court at Patiala House. The court has asked the counsel to file written submissions.
This development comes as the Engineer Rashid, who was arrested in 2019 in connection with a terror funding case, remains in judicial custody.
