The Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the excise policy case, to have two additional virtual meetings with his lawyers in each week from Tihar jail.

Earlier today, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court had extended the CBI's judicial custody of CM Kejriwal till August 8 in the CBI case related to Delhi excise policy scam.

Previously, the High Court had reserved an order on a plea by the Chief Minister seeking additional virtual meetings with his lawyers. The plea was contested by the ED as well as authorities at the Tihar jail who insisted that the law was equal for all. However, the AAP supremo's council had then submitted that he was facing around 35 cases across the country and, for a fair trial, he required two additional meetings with his lawyers via video conference to discuss the issues.

The Chief Minister has been lodged in Tihar jail since his arrest by the ED on March 21 and then the CBI on June 26 of this year in the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy case.
