The Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon has revised its route, shifting the Open 10K start from Sansad Marg to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium amid recent protests in the capital.
The decision comes after Sansad Marg saw protests against the Election Commission over the past few days.
Race organiser Procam International said the changes considering runners' safety and convenience.
“With race day almost here, preparations continue in close coordination with the relevant authorities. Every decision centres on the safety and experience of our runners and the wider community,” the organisers said in a statement.
As it stands, the Open 10K will now begin at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at 7:35 am, with the route changed accordingly. The organisers also mentioned that minor changes had also been made to the half-marathon route.
Procam International said it was making the necessary adjustments to race-day arrangements and would share further details with participants through official channels.
The organisers also announced the timings for all five races. The 21-km half-marathon is scheduled to start at 5:30 am, subject to government approval.
On Tuesday, the organisers had told PTI that preparations were continuing. But they were still awaiting final clearance from the authorities amid calls for protests in the national capital.
