Gurugram traffic advisory
Delhi Traffic Police have issued a traffic advisory for 3-4 days on NH-48 from Gurugram towards Delhi due to ongoing work by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The advisory, posted on X, states, "Traffic will remain affected for 3-4 days on NH-48 in the carriageway from Gurugram towards Delhi as the service road of NH-48 going from Shiv Murti towards Rangpuri has been closed due to ongoing work being carried out by NHAI. Commuters coming to Delhi via NH-48 are advised to plan their journey accordingly."

NHAI Work on NH-48

The NHAI began work on the 121-km stretch of NH-48 between Dahisar and Achhad near the Gujarat border in December 2023. This work involves closing one lane on either side of the highway.

Waterlogging at Okhla Underpass

On June 30, Delhi Traffic Police announced restricted traffic movement at Okhla Underpass due to waterlogging. The advisory posted on X read, "Movement of traffic is restricted at Okhla Underpass due to waterlogging. Kindly plan your journey accordingly."


Casualties Due to Heavy Rain

Heavy rains in Delhi-NCR on June 29 and 30 caused significant waterlogging, traffic jams, and accidents. A 60-year-old man drowned at Okhla Underpass, and two boys died near the rainwater-flooded Siraspur underpass. Police reported that a 12-year-old boy drowned at Siraspur underpass on June 29. Earlier, on June 28, two children drowned in a rainwater ditch in New Usmanpur.

Delhi Metro Operations

Despite the heavy rains, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) reported a significant increase in passenger journeys. On June 28, DMRC recorded over 69 lakh passenger journeys, maintaining a punctuality rate of 99.95% without disruption. "The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) recorded over 69 lakh passenger journeys on Friday, even as the Metro services operated without any disruption with a punctuality of 99.95 per cent despite the heavy rains that lashed the city and its peripheries," DMRC said in a post on X.
