Delhi metro to run at full capacity, theatres at 50% capacity from July 26
In a bid to further open up economic activities, Delhi government has allowed re-opening of cinema halls with 50 per cent capacity from July 26.
As Covid-19 cases decline, metro and buses are also permitted to operate with 100 per cent capacity in Delhi from 5 am of July 26, in fresh guidelines issued by Delhi Disaster Management Authority, this evening.
The order emphasized on the point that standing passenger is not allowed inside the metro.
The order also directed that number of people allowed at marriage functions and last rites will be raised to 100 from Monday.
Business-to-business (B2B) exhibitions will also be allowed, but only with business visitors, the guidelines said.
Spas can also open from July 26 but their all employees have to be fully vaccinated or undergo RT-PCR test fortnightly, the DDMA said.
Delhi faced a brutal second wave of the pandemic that claimed a large number of lives daily. The rapid rise in the number of cases led to a shortage of medical oxygen at various city hospitals. However, the Covid situation in the state is under control now with positivity rate close to 0.09 per cent.
