Delhi schools, universities set to re-open from Sept 1, govt issues SOPs
The Delhi government has issued SOPs for reopening of schools and colleges from September 1.

The Delhi government on Friday announced that schools from classes 9 to 12 along with colleges and coaching institutions will reopen from September 1. The announcement was made in the context of significant improvement in Delhi's Covid situation.

The Delhi government had clarified that no student would be forced to attend physical classes and the consent of parents would be mandatory.


Here are what those SOPs are:
  • Schools, colleges to set up quarantine room for emergency use; routine guest visits to be discouraged.

  • Students, teachers living in Covid containment zones not to be allowed to come to schools, colleges.

  • Lunch breaks in Delhi schools to be staggered to avoid crowding, should be held in open areas.

  • Maximum 50 per cent students per classroom may be called depending upon capacity.

  • Schools should prepare timetable as per occupancy limit of classrooms following Covid norms.
