Delhi will deploy over 30,000 police and paramilitary personnel, with more than 120 CAPF companies assisting, as the CJP protest demanding CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation enters its second day.
CJP has called for a fresh demonstration at Jantar Mantar at 10 am on Sunday, a day after Delhi Police detained protesters and activists at multiple locations and prevented demonstrators from reaching the proposed protest venue, which had been denied permission.

The heightened security arrangements include border checks, surveillance at railway stations and bus terminals, and monitoring of social media platforms for attempts to mobilise protesters. Delhi Traffic Police has also warned of possible disruptions in New Delhi and Central Delhi, with diversions potentially taking effect from 6 am depending on ground conditions.
Over 120 CAPF companies assist Delhi Police
More than 120 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are assisting Delhi Police in managing the security situation. The New Delhi district has been divided into 20 zones, with joint commissioners, deputy commissioners and additional deputy commissioners monitoring developments on the ground. Special commissioners heading various units are also keeping watch on the situation.Police have tightened security at the national capital's borders and intensified vehicle checks. Verification has also been stepped up at hotels, guest houses, lodges and dharamshalas to prevent unauthorised gatherings.
Commuters travelling to railway stations, inter-state bus terminals and the airport have been advised to allow extra time for their journeys and avoid non-essential travel. Police have appealed to the public to maintain peace and cooperate with security personnel.
Delhi Police had denied permission for Saturday's proposed gathering at Jantar Mantar, citing law-and-order concerns. A large number of protesters were detained as police mounted an extensive operation to prevent demonstrators from reaching the venue.
CJP vows to continue agitation, alleges electoral roll irregularities
CJP national organisation in-charge Ajinkya Shinde said the outfit would continue its agitation despite Saturday's police action. He urged supporters to assemble at Jantar Mantar and continue protesting at locations where police stopped them.The party has alleged that 13 crore votes were deleted or manipulated and is demanding accountability over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Its protest centres on the demand for Kumar's resignation.
CJP has also raised concerns over the whereabouts of its founder Abhijeet Dipke and co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were detained inside an aircraft after it landed at Delhi Airport from Mumbai on Saturday morning.

The outfit alleged that it had not received information about their whereabouts even 12 hours after their detention. It further claimed that their families had not been informed and that lawyers were being denied information. These allegations could not be independently verified from the information available.
The agitation has drawn support from opposition figures and civil society groups. Nationalist Congress Party spokesperson Anish Gawande alleged that attempts were being made to divide civil society organisations and opposition parties seeking accountability from the Election Commission. Students' Federation of India representative Srijan Bhattacharya called for broader unity against what he described as dictatorship.
The fresh call for a Sunday demonstration comes amid heightened security and continuing political confrontation over the CJP's allegations against the electoral roll revision process.
