Delhi on Monday reported 89 Covid-19 cases, the lowest this year so far, and test positivity rate of only 0.16% even as deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia alleged that the Centre’s vaccination drive is the world’s “longest” and most “messed up”.

This is the first time since February 16, when 94 people were diagnosed with the disease, that the number of new cases have dropped below 100. The city reported 11 Covid-19 deaths, pushing total fatalities to 24,925.

Sisodia said the central government will give Delhi only 57 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses for the month of July and at that rate, it will take another 15-16 months to inoculate the city's entire population.

“The vaccination drive, which the Centre is saying is the largest drive, is actually the world’s longest, mismanaged, and messed up,” the deputy chief minister said.

Delhi needs 2.94 crore vaccines, he said. So far, 1,405,460 people have recovered in the city with 173 people recovering in the last 24 hours.
