The legal team of Delhi CM and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday filed a formal complaint has been lodged with the Supreme Court's registry against the Enforcement Directorate's affidavit, which opposes interim bail in the top Court.

It has also raised strong objection to the affidavit filed by the federal agency and has denounced the affidavit as a blatant disregard of legal procedures, especially considering that the matter is already slated for a final decision in the Supreme Court tomorrow.

The affidavit was submitted without taking the SC's approval, they further claimed.

This comes after ED on Thursday filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court against Kejriwal's bail plea and said that the 'right to campaign in polls is neither fundamental nor constitutional.'

Moreover, the central agency said that Kejriwal is not contesting Lok Sabha polls and no political leader has ever been granted interim bail for campaigning.

The Supreme Court has reserved its order on interim bail to Kejriwal and is likely to give the verdict on Friday.

Earlier, the Supreme Court pushed forward the verdict on Kejriwal's interim bail plea and said that it may announce the order on Thursday or next week, without specifying the date. The SC raised concerns regarding the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) prolonged investigation into the excise policy-linked money laundering case involving Kejriwal.

The SC bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta told Arvind Kejriwal's counsel Abhishek Singhvi that if it were to give interim bail to the Aam Aadmi Party's national convenor, it doesn’t want him to be performing official duties as the CM as it could lead to a conflict somewhere.
