Delhi government notifies new fares
Delhi government on Wednesday notified new rates of auto-taxi fare. The fares of auto rickshaws and taxis used for commutation in the national capital have been hiked, as per the government notification.

For autos
The auto meter will now be down from Rs 30 instead of Rs 25, as per the government. This is an increase of Rs 5 from the previous fare.

Fare per km
After the base price, the fare per kilometre will be Rs 11 instead of Rs 9.5 that is currently charged, reported ANI.

For taxis
The passengers will be required to pay Rs 17 per kilometre for non-AC taxis after a minimum fare of Rs 40. Earlier, this fee was Rs 14 per kilometre. In case of AC taxis, the fare has been increased from Rs 16 per km to Rs 20 per km.

Waiting and extra luggage charge
In case of waiting, passengers will be charged by Re 1 per minute after a stay of 15 minutes. This is currently charged at Rs 30. Extra luggage charge has been hiked to Rs 15 from the current Rs 10.

Night fare
The 25 per cent night surcharge remains unchanged, as per the notification. The move comes in view of record increase in CNG prices in the national capital and is expected to bring relief to thousands of auto and taxi drivers.
