Delhi: All MCD schools to remain shut till July 16 due to rising Yamuna water level

The Yamuna river rose to a record 207.83 metres on Wednesday, breaching its all-time record of 207.49 metres set 45 years ago.

All MCD schools in Delhi will remain closed until July 16 due to a flood-like situation in the national capital, the civic body said on Wednesday.

"In accordance with the directions issued by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority on account of the rising waters of the river Yamuna, it is hereby directed that all MCD, MCD aided and recognized by MCD shal remain closed upto 16.07.2023 (Sunday) for all purpose,'' the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said in a statement.
