On his instructions, Soban Singh, Deputy Excise Inspector, Area-3, Mussoorie, district-Dehradun and in-charge Kuthalgate outpost Sub Inspector Ashok Kumar have been suspended with immediate effect.
CM Dhami directed officials to immediately launch a comprehensive checking campaign across the state and ensure strict action against all unwanted and disruptive elements. He said that road rage, firing, and illegal activities that continue late into the night must be completely put under check.
According to a press release, the CM stated that the state government's priority is the safety of the common people, and every necessary step will be taken to ensure this. He instructed official to act strictly against lawbreakers.
He clearly said that officers and employees, who are negligent in their duty, will not be spared under any circumstances. Citing the suspension of the concerned officers after the recent incident in Dehradun as an example of this strictness, he said that such action will continue in future also.
Meanwhile, chief secretary Anand Bardhan held a meeting with senior officials from the Home and Police departments at the Secretariat on Tuesday regarding law and order in the city. Expressing displeasure over the increasing incidents of road rage and rioting, the chief secretary directed increased surveillance to prevent such incidents and strict action against rioters.
The chief secretary directed the police to intensify police patrolling in Dehradun city and surrounding areas. He directed the Dehradun SSP to instruct all his station house officers to increase patrolling during peak hours. He also directed that morning patrolling, besides day and night patrolling.
He told the officials concerned to ensure timely closure of bars and restaurants. He also asked them to take strict action against rioters to prevent Dehradun from becoming a haven for parties and hooliganism during the weekend.
