Dehradun: 13 persons killed as vehicle falls into a deep gorge in Chakarata area

13 persons were killed, and two others injured after a vehicle in which they were travelling fell deep into a deep gorge near Bayala village under Chakrata police station of Dehradun.

After receiving information, a team of state disaster response force (SDRF) rushed to the spot and recovered 13 bodies. The two injured persons have been taken to a hospital by the SDRF team of SDRF.

As per the initial reports, the vehicle was on its way from Tyuni to Vikashnagar.


Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has condoled the deaths and directed the officials to ensure proper medical treatment of the injured persons.

Apart from Garhwal commissioner and DM, Dehradun, cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi has rushed to the spot. The government has ordered a magisterial probe into the incident.
