DD Robocon 2024: Epic showdown of India's top engineering minds

DD Robocon 2024: In a dazzling display of innovation and engineering prowess, Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium hosted the thrilling finale of DD Robocon India 2024. The event, featuring robots from 46 colleges nationwide, culminated in an intense showdown where mechanical creations battled for the prestigious title.

The final match witnessed fierce competition between robots representing Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Nirma University. After an exhilarating three-minute clash, Nirma University emerged victorious, claiming the top honors.

This year's theme, 'Harvest Day,' challenged robots to simulate planting rice seedlings and collecting seed balls for storage. The teams that successfully planted the most saplings were celebrated for their technical acumen and innovative solutions.


Organized by IIT Delhi and Prasar Bharati, DD Robocon aims to foster technical skills, innovation, and teamwork among engineering students. Over 750 students from various colleges and universities participated, showcasing their robotic creations and pushing the boundaries of automation and artificial intelligence (AI).

As per a TOI report, Professor Sunil Jha of IIT Delhi highlighted the advancements witnessed in this year's competition, noting the increased integration of AI technologies in the robots. He emphasized that events like Robocon not only promote technical excellence but also attract the attention of recruitment companies scouting for emerging talent.

The winning team from DD Robocon 2024 will represent India at the prestigious Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Robocon 2024 in Quang Ninh, Vietnam, scheduled for August 25. Professor Jha expressed optimism about India's prospects at the international level, anticipating a strong performance from the Indian team.

DD Robocon India, a fixture in the country for the past 23 years, continues to be a cornerstone event in the field of robotics, offering students a platform to innovate, collaborate, and compete on a national stage.
