At least 27 people were killed in Mizoram and 3 in Assam due to landslides following the storm and rainfall triggered by cyclone 'Remal'.

In a massive landslide, at least 13 people, including two minors, were killed and eight others were missing as a stone quarry collapsed in Aizawl district. One person was injured and rushed to hospital. The incident happened around 6 am in an area between Melthum and Hlimen on the southern outskirts of the Aizawl town, a report of Mizoram State Disaster Management Authority said.

The report stated that several houses and worker camps caved in due to the impact of the landslide, burying at least 21 people beneath the debris. CM Lalduhoma visited two disaster sites in Aizawl city, severely affected by the heavy rainfall from the cyclone.

Electricity and water supply are likely to be affected due to damage of infrastructure.
