CV Ananda Bose appoints Ex-HC chief justice interim vice chancellor of Rabindra Bharati University

In an unprecedented move, governor CV Ananda Bose on Wednesday appointed former chief justice of Karnataka High Court, Subhro Kamal Mukherjee, as interim vice chancellor of the iconic Rabindra Bharati University.

Mukherjee, who retired in 2017, has also been appointed head of a 'peace and social integration committee', a platform set up by the governor to contain the violence related to panchayat polls.

Mukherjee said, "Some student leaders kicked the doors of the vice chancellor's room. There is a standard on how students should behave. We have to...offer proper guidance to students, so that next time, they cannot do such an act."
