CRPF jawan rescued by Manipur police

A senior police official, who did not want to be named, told ET that the incident took place along the national highway when the CRPF personnel was going to his village.

Manipur Police with the support of local people rescued an Assistant Sub-Inspector of CRPF.
Manipur police have rescued a CRPF personnel who was abducted by unknown miscreants from Shantipur village of Imphal West district. A case has been registered for further investigation, Manipur police have posted on X.

A senior police official, who did not want to be named, told ET that the incident took place along the national highway when the CRPF personnel was going to his village.

The person has been identified as Lensat Sitlhou, son of Ngulkhomang Sitlhou, of Keithelmanbi Military Colony. The abducted jawan was reportedly brutally assaulted by the abductors, the police official said.


On April 27, two CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured when their camp in Naransena area of Manipur's Bishnupur district was attacked.
