CRPF distributes radios to counter misinformation in remote Naxal-hit Bastar villages
Indian security forces are using radio to expand access to reliable information in remote villages of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, where mobile connectivity remains limited.The Central Reserve Police Force distributed radios under its Civic Action Programme in Jidpalli and nearby villages, officials said. The initiative, led by the CRPF’s 228th Battalion, targets areas affected by Naxal violence.Officials said radio broadcasts provide updates on jobs, exams and recruitment in the army and police, along with information on central and state welfare schemes.
