Covid-19: Schools, colleges to reopen in Delhi, night curfew shortened by one hour

Covid-19: Delhi schools, gyms to open from Monday, 100% staff in offices
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has announced the reopening of schools and colleges in the city, owing to the drop in coronavirus cases.

Schools will open in a phased manner- with classes 9th-12th reopening from Feb 7 and classes from nursery to 8 from Feb 14.

Teachers who aren't vaccinated will not be permitted.


It also announced that the night curfew will be shortened by an hour, from 11 pm to 5 am.

The new notification also includes the opening of coaching institutes and gyms, with restrictions and allows offices to function with 100% attendance.

Single drivers in cars will be exempted from mask mandate.

The decisions were taken based on experts' advise amid consistent decrease in Covid positivity rate and number of cases, officials said.

The Ministry of Education on Thursday issued revised guidelines for the reopening of schools, allowing the states to take the final call based on their overall COVID situation.

India added 1,49,394 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total virus tally to 4,19,52,712, while the active cases further declined to 14,35,569, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday.
