With fresh Covid clusters seen in Christian College of Nursing near Horamavu in the outskirts of the city, BBMP has restricted entry to the college.
The state government has temporarily sealed off the Christian College of Nursing at Horamavu, near Hennur Road in Bengaluru, after it emerged that 34 of its students have been tested positive for Covid-19.

The health authorities have declared the place as a sensitive containment zone. The Covid positive students will be tested again after a week, and about 800 residents living in the vicinity of the college too will be tested, along with their primary and secondary contacts, Health & Medical Education minister K Sudhakar, who visited the college on Friday, said.

He inspected the precautionary measures to protect students from the infection. The minister said educational institutions that get students from outside the state should exercise caution as KGF Nursing College too has reported infection among its students.

Most students studying at the nursing college in Horamavu are from Kerala and West Bengal, and those tested positive are asymptomatic. Their samples have been sent for genomic sequencing.
