Covid 19: Cases rise but experts say no cause for worry

India’s 7-day average of daily Covid cases doubled in just a week to more than 2,100, a level last recorded in October last year. Active caseload is now at the levels seen in early November.

Deaths are trending up too, but numbers are very low so far. As in the past, Maharashtra, Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka, Delhi and Tamil Nadu are worst hit. Himachal Pradesh, the most vaccinated state, is witnessing a surprise increase, likely because it is a tourist hotspot.
