Obscene video case: Court rejects bail plea of Prajwal Revanna, SIT takes HD Revanna into custody
JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna's bail denied in Bengaluru. Explicit videos circulated, sparking scandal. CBI may issue Blue Corner Notice in sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna who left the country post-polls.
Revanna was arrested after his bail plea was rejected by a Bengaluru court.
Justice Santosh Gajanana Bhat bench of People's Representative Court in Bengaluru also rejected the bail plea of his son JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna.
The first case was registered against the father and son for alleged sexual harassment at the Holenarsipura police station in Hassan district last Sunday, based on a complaint by a woman who worked in Revanna's house.
The second FIR was registered against Revanna and his confidant Sathish Babanna in Mysuru on Thursday night for allegedly abducting a woman, who is also reportedly a victim of sexual abuse.
Explicit video clips allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna had started making the rounds in Hassan in recent days, following which the state government constituted the SIT to probe the scandal.
Prajwal Revanna is said to have flown abroad on April 27, a day after the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Karnataka was held. His advocate had sought for seven days' time for him to appear before the SIT, to which the investigating team has replied it is not possible as there is no such provision.
Earlier today Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's office said a special team probing the alleged sex scandal involving Prajwal Revanna has informed the CM that there is a possibility of the CBI issuing a "Blue Corner Notice" against the JD(S) Hassan MP, who is said to have left the country. A Blue Corner Notice is issued by the international police cooperation body to collect additional information from its member countries about a person's identity, location or activities in relation to a crime.
