Cloudburst triggers flash floods in Uttarkashi's Dharali; At least 4 dead, dozens feared trapped
A powerful cloudburst in the Kheer Ganga catchment triggered devastating flash floods in Uttarakhand’s Dharali village near Harsil on Tuesday. At least four people have died, and several are feared trapped under debris. Locals say 20–25 hotels and homes may have been washed away. Dramatic visuals show muddy torrents ripping through the village, leaving behind a trail of destruction and panic. The Indian Army’s Ibex Brigade, along with SDRF and NDRF teams, are conducting rescue operations. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami called the situation “extremely distressing” and said relief work is underway on a war footing.
