Close to 23 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts created so far, says Centre

​​In a written reply to Lok Sabha, on Friday, MoS Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said that 23 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers have been created so far.

The Centre's Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme has now registered close to 23 crore beneficiaries, according to the Minister of State for Health.

In a written reply to Lok Sabha, on Friday, MoS Health Bharati Pravin Pawar said that 23 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) numbers have been created so far.

ABHA's are 14-digit health IDs that can be generated for all age groups with the aim to create a digital health ecosystem in India.


Andhra Pradesh generated the highest with 3.21 crore ABHAs, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

"Till July 15, 2022, a total of 22,97,64,327 ABHA numbers have been created. ABHA number can be populated across existing digital health interventions to create longitudinal electronic health record (EHR) of the citizen," Pawar said.
