The pass percentage this year is 99.99 per cent compared to 71.80 last year.
He also said that 157 students got 100% i.e. 625 out of 625, while 289 students got 623, and two students scored 622. Last year, just six students had scored 625 out of 625, while 11 got 624 and 43 got 623, he added.
The minister further said that 16.52 per cent of the students achieved an A grade. This means they scored between 90 per cent 100 per cent. Aside from that, 32.07 per cent of the students scored an A grade by getting 80 per cent to 89 per cent.
The exams were conducted on July 19 and 22 on OMR sheets. The exam on July 19 was a combination of core subjects (Maths, science and social studies). Whereas, the second exam on July 22 was of languages, like Kannada, English or Sanskrit.
The Karnataka government decided to hold the SSLC examinations unlike other state and central boards, as it considered it crucial for the selection of the students' stream.
The government said that it had been decided that every student was to pass as classes were held in abnormal conditions during the pandemic. Most students attended online classes as regular classes were not being held.
