Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, Ranka, Das detained at Delhi Airport ahead of Jantar Mantar protest
The Organisation In-charge of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) Ajinkya Shinde sought immediate release and information about the whereabouts of CJP Convenor Abhijeet Dipke and Co-Convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, who were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday.

He laid three demands for the Delhi Police seeking immediate release from their illegal detention, information of their whereabouts, and access to their lawyers.

"It’s been 12 hours. No information. No accountability. We demand: Immediate release of Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, immediate disclosure of their whereabouts, immediate access to their lawyers. You cannot make people disappear and call it democracy," CJP said in a post on X.

Delhi Police have released all the detainees from the detention centers except CJP leaders, sources told ET, adding that due legal process will be followed for the CJP leaders.

The three leaders were detained by Delhi Police on Saturday morning inside the aircraft after landing from Mumbai at New Delhi.

It has been 12 hours, and there is still no information about their whereabouts, Shinde said.

"Their families have not been informed. Lawyers are being denied information. Nobody knows where they have been taken, whether they are being held together or separately, or which agency has detained them. This is completely unacceptable and raises grave concerns about the legality of their detention and the violation of their fundamental rights. Keeping individuals incommunicado without disclosing their whereabouts to their families or lawyers is a serious matter that demands immediate accountability," he said in a letter addressed to the Commissioner of Police.

He called on Delhi Police to answer these questions, saying that no authority is above the law, and no one can be made to disappear from public view without accountability.
