CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke flags expired food used in mid day meals, lack of basic facilities in Maharashtra government schools

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has alleged that expired food items were being used to prepare midday meals for children at government schools in Maharashtra's Hingoli district, raising questions over the safety of food being served to students

He also highlighted the lack of basic facilities such as drinking water, washrooms, benches and adequate teachers.

Dipke toured villages in the Hingoli district and inspected schools under the CJP's 'School Thik Karo' campaign, which was launched on August 15 from his native village, Santuk Pipri. On Saturday, he visited the area again and inspected schools in Lohgaon, Karanjal, Jamdaya, Jambhrun and Khillar.

"I was absolutely shocked by what I saw this morning. The food items being used for the midday meal were expired, they had gone past their expiry date six or seven months ago. I want to ask the ministers, MLAs, and officials, do they feed their own children expired food?"

Dipke also questioned the condition of government schools and the availability of basic infrastructure for children.

"Even after all these years, if children in our country's government schools lack drinking water and usable restrooms and have to sit on the floor because there are no benches, then what exactly has been done?"

"Only when the government supports these children and builds good schools for them will they be able to achieve something in life."

According to Dipke, the schools he visited lacked several basic facilities.

"None of the schools have drinking water, and none of them have washrooms. None of the schools have benches for children to sit on, nor do they have enough teachers..."

Dipke said that during his visit to Kadoli village, he saw a school building that had been constructed in 1950 and claimed that no work had been carried out on the building since then.

"When I visited Kadoli village, I saw a building that had been constructed back in 1950. No work had been done on that building since 1950."

He also alleged that political interests were being prioritised over the needs of children.

"Their only priority is gaining power by any means necessary."

In a post on X, Dipke said that expired food items were being used to feed children in government schools and questioned whether those in power would feed the same food to their own children.

"Expired food items are being used to feed children in Govt Schools. Would those sitting in power feed the same food to their own children? And if exposing this means FIRs against us, then please do. We won’t stop exposing the truth."

The CJP, in a separate post on X, also alleged that the use of expired food was part of a long-running scam.

"This is why they get so mad when we go to schools for inspections. They must’ve been running this scam for years. All for a little money, they’re putting children’s lives at risk by feeding them expired food. Absolutely disgusting and shameful."
