Chief of banned militant outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura apprehended

Chief of banned militant outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) was apprehended in a joint operation of Assam Rifles and Mizoram police.

Jacob Hrangkhawl was nabbed in Aizawl on Wednesday.

A Defence spokesman said, "Acting on a tip-off, the NLFT supremo was arrested following a joint operation by the Assam Rifles jawans and the Mizoram police.”


A police official in Agartala said that a team of Tripura police would soon go to Aizawl (Mizoram) to bring Hrangkhawl in the state and to initiate legal proceedings.

The NLFT was formed in 1989.
