Chhattisgarh village turns into Youtuber's hub

The YouTube culture was started by two friends - Gyanendra Shukla and Jai Verma in the village, but soon became a rage. Following them, the whole of Tusli village got into this profession. While Shukla left his SBI job, Verma left his job as a teacher to start their YouTube career.

Gyanendra Shukla
Gyanendra Shukla has worked in SBI earlier, as a network engineer. He used his company high-speed data to upload videos on You Tube in 2011-2012. He was not satisfied with my 9 to 5 job, so he eventually left the job and started his own YouTube channel. Currently, he have about 250 videos and 1.15 lakh subscribers on You Tube.

Village role
The locals have around 40 YouTube channels. Besides entertainment YouTubers also created content on education. Tusli village in Chhattisgarh's Raipur earlier people used to hesitate while creating content on YouTube and could not act in public places, but when some village elders asked them to act in Ramlila, their hesitation went away.

Empowering women
YouTube is also a means of empowering girls in the Naxal-hit state. Pinki Sahu, a YouTuber said, it has been 1.5 years since she started. Everyone here participates. Women here are generally not allowed to step out of houses but through YouTube channel, they have given them a lot of information that girls too can do something.

Income
Jai Verma, a part-time teacher said, first people started making videos for YouTube, later for TikTok and now even for reels. He earned Rs 12,000-Rs 15,000 a month in the starting. Now, he earns Rs 30,000-35,000 a month.
