Chennai residents can expect light to moderate rain Friday, as the city continues to experience unsettled weather conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is likely to hover between 27-28°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 23°C.

Partly cloudy skies will dominate the day, with early morning hours seeing haze or mist in some areas, potentially affecting visibility, as per the forecast by the Met department.

This weather is being influenced by a well-marked low-pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, which is likely to move northwestwards towards the North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh coasts over the next 12 hours.

The system is expected to bring intermittent rainfall to Chennai and its neighboring regions.

For the broader Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal areas, light to moderate rainfall is likely at one or two locations, especially in North Coastal Tamil Nadu today.

Similar conditions are expected to persist for the next few days, with forecasts extending up to December 25 indicating isolated rainfall in the region.
