Following the widespread jubilation and national pride over the triumphant landing of ISRO's Vikram lander on the moon's southern pole, rakhi artisans are producing a distinctive line of rakhis adorned with Chandrayaan-3 motifs.
Labeled with titles such as 'Bharat Ka Vikram Ab Chand Par' (India's Vikram on the Moon) and 'Chand Bharat Ka Hua' (When India Touched the Moon), these specialized rakhis have already made their debut in the markets across the country.
Mohd Quadir, a rakhi designer and supplier, told TOI, "The mission's success sparked significant interest among buyers, driving them to request Chandrayaan-3 themed rakhis. Responding to this demand, we initially designed five distinct rakhis and are planning to unveil more variations."
Quadir also noted the astonishing appeal of these unique rakhis among younger generations, indicating a surprising surge in interest for the space-themed designs.
Amidst the array of rakhis available in various markets like Civil Lines, Chowk, Katra, Teliyarganj, Dhoomanganj, and Bahadurganj, it's noteworthy that the demand for rakhis inspired by Chandrayaan-3 has surged significantly in the lead-up to the festival.
As the nation continues to revel in the achievement of its space endeavors, this innovative fusion of space exploration and tradition serves as a testament to the ever-evolving cultural and festive landscape of India.
