Centre to hold five regional meets on Labour Codes

The first regional conference will be held in Goa on Wednesday with participation from Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Lakshadweep. Labour and employment minister Mansukh Mandaviya will deliver a virtual opening address while labour and employment secretary Vandana Gurnani will chair the meeting.
The Centre had on November 21, 2025, notified the four Labour Codes passed by parliament between 2019 and 2020.
The Social Security Code, 2020 provides for free medical treatment at all hospitals and dispensaries of the Employees State Insurance Corporation for all workers, including unorganised ones.
Further, benefits under the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana will be extended to gig and platform workers.
