The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has emphasised that the Centre and state governments need to immediately set up real-time, Covid information dashboards for the public.

NHRC has pressed for the need to have “universally functional Covid-19 dashboards for real-time information in public domain on the availability of hospital beds, oxygen, critical care medicines and devices”. The rights body has also asked for setting up 24X7 functional, toll-free helplines and fixing the prices of Covid-19 treatment resources.

The NHRC has also recommended to the Centre and states that there is a need to take immediate action against those hoarding and black-marketing essential medicines and oxygen cylinders. It has asked governments to ramp up production, transportation and distribution of essential resources.
