Guwahati: Government of India and militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland(K)Nikki, have mutually decided to extend the ceasefire Agreement for one year.

The ceasefire is extended with effect from September 8, 2024, for a period of one till 7th September 2025 to bring about a lasting peace in the State of Nagaland with the involvement of Naga people.

The Ceasefire will be subject to adherence to the Ceasefire Ground Rules mutually agreed to and signed by the two sides. The Ceasefire Ground Rules will be subject to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties.


Niki Sumi led faction entered into a ceasefire agreement with the government of India in 2021. Since the signing of the one-year truce, more than 200 cadres of his group have joined the peace process.
