Saibal Chattopadhyay appointed chairperson of NSC
New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Saibal Chattopadhyay, former director of Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, as chairperson of the National Statistical Commission (NSC). Shubhabrata Das, Satyendra Bahadur Singh, and Madhavan Mukund have been appointed as part-time members of the commission.

The NSC comprises a part-time chairperson, four part-time members with expertise in the field of statistics, CEO of Niti Aayog as an ex-officio member, and MoSPI secretary, who serves as the commission's secretary.
