NEW DELHI: The re-evaluation portal of the Central Board of Secondary Education remained inactive till press time on Monday, the day the post-result portal was scheduled to go live, leaving lakhs of students in distress and suspense over the issue.

ET has learnt that the delay was on account of securing the portal from cyberattacks. CBSE is aiming at closing the re-evaluation process around its usual window of June 15-16, with a margin of another 4-5 days, sources indicated.

CBSE put out a post on X at around 2 pm on Monday, stating that the 'verification and re-evaluation portal will go live soon' and an 'official announcement will follow'.

Amid the controversy surrounding the re-evaluation, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority - responsible for managing seat allocation for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs - has said that students should register for counselling "irrespective of the marks or percentage obtained in the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination".
