CBI to continue TN schoolgirl Lavanya's death probe: SC

The Supreme Court said on Monday that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the death of a Tamil Nadu schoolgirl, Lavanya, will continue as per the high court's order and asked the state not to make it a prestige issue and hand over all the papers in the case to the central investigative agency.

The schoolgirl's death has been mired in controversy with allegations of forced conversion against the school in which she was studying and counter-allegations against her family. The CBI is expected to probe all these aspects.

The state police had been investigating the case and has also collected the evidence.
