The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Saturday registered a case in connection with Manipur viral video showing two women belonging to the Kuki tribe being paraded naked and subjected to sexual violence in Manipur.

The case was registered 48 hours after the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) referred the case to the CBI.

The Centre earlier this week had informed the Supreme Court that it would be handing over the investigation of the case to the CBI. The Manipur police had initially registered a case and arrested six accused after the video went viral. As per available information, the CBI will question the arrested accused and gather evidence.
