CBI finds no evidence linking Sanjeev Mukhiya to NEET-UG 2024 paper leak

In an official press statement released on Thursday, the agency said that the case was initially registered by the Bihar Police after the NEET-UG question paper theft was detected in 2024.

"Prima facie suspicion had emerged at that stage against one Sanjeev Kumar @ Sanjeev Mukhiya may have been involved in the theft, as he was found to have been involved in certain other examination paper theft/leak cases. He was accordingly named as an accused in the said FIR by Bihar Police," the CBI's statement read.
The case was subsequently transferred to the CBI for investigation. The federal agency said it identified every person involved in the theft and onward distribution of the stolen NEET (UG) 2024 question paper, as well as every candidate who benefited from using the stolen paper.

The agency said that it filed multiple chargesheets against 45 accused involved in the case.
