CBI files charge sheet in Guntur against man who made 'derogatory posts' about judiciary

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday filed chargesheet against an accused before the Competent Court, Guntur in a case related to making derogatory posts on social media against Judges and Judiciary.

The agency has charge sheeted Lingareddy Rajasekhar. The agency had registered a case on November 11, 2020 against 16 accused & taken over the investigation of 12 FIRs from CID, State of Andhra Pradesh in pursuance of the orders of High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

The original FIRs were registered on the complaints from Registrar General of High Court of Andhra Pradesh. It was alleged that the key personnel occupying posts of prominence in the State of Andhra Pradesh by intentionally targeting the Judiciary, made derogatory posts on social media platform against Hon’ble Judges and Judiciary following some Court verdicts delivered by the Judges of High Court of Andhra Pradesh. Action was also initiated by CBI, after it had registered this case to get objectionable posts removed from the social media platforms, public domains and a lot of such posts/accounts were removed from internet.


During the course of investigation Lingareddy Rajasekhar was arrested on July 9 at Cuddaph and presently he is in Judicial Custody. Searches were also conducted at the residential premises of accused at Cuddapah (Andhra Pradesh) which led to recovery of incriminating documents, the agency said in a release.
